Last week we focused a lot on content distribution and methods to get the most out of every piece you publish. But this week, we’re going to step back for a moment.

What if you haven’t made it to that stage yet?

What if you’re still struggling to come up with impactful ideas that really engage people?

No problem, Workdom has you covered. We work with businesses of all sizes helping them develop content ideas that generate traffic, build backlinks and most importantly attract customers.

In all of our years of working with businesses across every possible industry, these content generation ideas have continued to bring our clients more of what they really want from their blogs: authority, credibility, and interactivity. Here are our top performers:

Meaningful Data and Charts — Explained

Do you have a knack for taking charts and data and turning their findings into plain English so that they can be easily understood and acted upon? If so, you’re on the fast-track to getting bucketloads of quality backlinks and shares.

This one isn’t exactly push-button simple (the best content ideas never are), but if you can distill information into something that people can follow and act upon — especially if you’ve done all the research or surveyed users on your own, you’re much more likely to get quality links and mentions, simply because not everyone has this skill — and they’re often more than happy to link to you because you’ve done all the legwork!

Turn Long Walls of Text into Charts or Infographics

The same as above applies in reverse too. If there’s a particularly lengthy post that really goes into deep detail on a topic, could you help simplify it into a chart or infographic that’s more visually digestible?

There are plenty of online infographic and chart creation resources out there but if you’re not a graphics wizard, don’t worry. You could also distill that information into a video. With content generation, there’s no shortage of ways to get your message across different channels.

Lists with a Twist

List posts are one of the most common things that people suggest when they’re coming up with blog post ideas. But the old-fashioned method of titling them “25 of the Best Marketing Resources” probably won’t get clicked as much as a more enticing title, such as “We Tried the 7 Best List Building Tools and Here’s What We Found Out”.

This type of hybrid post combines both a list and an opinion piece, and when done right can help boost your credibility as a recognized thought leader or influencer in your chosen industry.

Tell the Stories of Case Studies

Many times, even the best case studies that show remarkable improvements are stuffed in a dark corner of a website, where few people will ever read them. Why not turn those case studies into insightful content?

With the client’s permission, can you elaborate on their situation before and after your company helped them? What were the results? What would they say was the most impactful change? What has happened since then? Instead of case studies, turn them into “case stories” and let the results you were able to get for your clients speak for themselves.

Keep an Eye on Your Competition

If you’re not subscribed to your competition’s newsletters, following them on social media, or watching their channel on YouTube, you’re missing out on a great opportunity not only to follow what your competitors are up to but also to see what trends and content ideas they themselves are focusing on.

Of course, that isn’t to say that you should copy what they’re doing, but it can be worth monitoring their posts to see what angles they’re coming up with to differentiate themselves from you, and then leverage that information to further better position your own business.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help

We all get “content idea fatigue” from time to time and it can feel like your brain is absolutely tapped out of ideas. Whether you’ve tried these suggestions or you’re thinking about them, there’s nothing wrong with asking for help! At Workdom, we’ve helped clients across a variety of industries, large and small, brainstorm amazing content generation ideas along with excellent tools and strategies that help them get the most out of every post.

Reach out to our senior advertising professionals today and let’s talk more about how we can help you with your own content ideas and generate plenty of insightful, impactful, and engaging content you can rely on! We can also help you identify the best channels for your content distribution so that not only do you write incredible pieces, but they gain amazing traction across all your preferred business channels.
